Arts at the Center

CCAS's Spaces for Possibility uses the arts throughout the curriculum as one of many ways for students to make meaning out of their learning experiences. Art skills are developed alongside their investigations of core content.

Spaces for Possibility

Spaces for Possibility is an arts-based learning community

for reflective teacher practice. This is a community of experts committed to questioning, exploring and confronting the possibilities of an art education. Teachers participate in an arts-based learning community that values the teachers' internal expertise and examines their own pedagogy to move their practice forward. This group collectively develops methods for analyzing student feedback to improve participants' teaching and creates complex and culturally relevant art curriculum for their students.

Every Art, Every Child

Every Art, Every Child worked to create tools for K-8th

grade classroom teachers. For 20 years, A committed group of educators, artists, policy makers, evaluators, and administrators has carved out an approach for using the arts across the curriculum. Our model of arts-integration grew out of an early drop- out prevention program in the city of Chicago and morphed into an internationally recognized model for arts-integration replicated in Scotland and many school districts around the United States. The model uses the arts throughout the curriculum as one of many ways for students to make meaning out of their learning experiences. Art skills are developed alongside their investigations of core content.
